EREDIVISIE : RODA JC vs EXCELSIOR

Roda JC  will be unable to call upon right back Ashton Gotz, center back Christian Kum, midfielder Mitchell Paulissen and winger Celestin Djim due to injuries.

Roda have registered just 18 total goals all season, and eight of those have been directly influenced by Swedish, Simon Gustafson. He has scored six and assisted twice so far to show that he is without a doubt their biggest threat. Most of the time if he is stopped then Roda are stopped, so he must be in top form to get them three points.

Excelsior is without goalkeeper Alessandro Damen and right back Desevio Payne due to injury.

In a win over last week against Sparta Rotterdam, Excelsior got two goals from center midfielder Ali Messaoud to lead them to victory. The Dutchman has now gotten his first two goals of the season and also has three assists, showing he is able to influence matches.

Roda enter the weekend next to bottom in the table on 12 points. They are still four points away from getting out of the relegation zone. They have no wins in their last five and just two points from those games.

Excelsior will start the weekend in 11th place with 24 points. They are six points above the drop zone.

At home, Roda have not been brilliant. They have just nine points from nine matches so far via two wins and three draws. Excelsior's away record has been quite good. They have picked up a startling 16 points from their overall 24 total points.

Ahead of this match, Roda remain in serious jeopardy of losing their status as an Eredivisie side at the end of the season. They are still just barely off the bottom of the table, and for them to move closer off they will have to defeat an Excelsior side that have been playing well of late. Excelsior wins, narrowly, to complete the double over Roda.

Score Prediction: Roda 0-1 Excelsior
